EOSC Data Commons’ coordination team participated in the EOSC Symposium 2025 on 03-05 November 2025.

The Symposium is one of the most significant events for the European Open Science Cloud community. This year, the event offered an excellent opportunity to connect with sister projects within the EOSC Data Commons cluster, such as LUMEN, RAISE Suite and DataGEMS, and to explore new avenues for collaboration in building a more integrated and sustainable EOSC ecosystem.

The Symposium focused on the launch of the Federation of EOSC nodes, a milestone marking the operational phase of EOSC. The event showed that EOSC Data Commons can provide instrumental services to support this new federation, ensuring that resources and data can flow seamlessly across national and thematic nodes.

Presentations at the Symposium also highlighted the links with the EOSC EU Node and the newly launched CERN node. As presented by Peter Szegedi from the EC, the Open Cloud Mesh Interoperability feature is co-enabled through EOSC Data Commons’ ScienceMesh use case. These links further strengthen the project’s role in connecting infrastructures and fostering cross-node cooperation.

EOSC Data Commons is fully committed to facilitating the creation of open, federated, and sustainable research data services within the broader EOSC landscape.
