After an introduction about the project, setting its operative framework, the article introduces the two core services under development:
- EOSC Matchmaker, which helps researchers discover datasets, tools, and services across scientific domains, and
- EOSC Data Player, which supports interoperability through shared metadata, harmonised APIs, and common mechanisms for authentication and provenance tracking.
Together, these services aim to make it easier to move from discovery to analysis and preservation in a distributed research environment.
The article offers an overview of the project’s technical approach, its use-case-driven development, and its broader contribution to the EOSC Federation and Europe’s open science ecosystem. It reflects the project’s ambition to help make research data more FAIR, more reusable, and more useful for researchers, infrastructure providers, and policy-makers alike
